​Emerging from a chrysalis of positivity and consciousness, Safiya is an artist who transcends the norm by infusing her past with her future. Flavoring her sounds with musical dialects hailing from not only jazz but her Afro-Caribbean roots. Safiya Leslie is bringing new energy and a young soul to the world music scene today. Safiya and her powerful band possess jazz chops, an urban attitudes, and Caribbean beauty. She and her band take you to collect all your passport stamps every time she performs. She has headlined many festivals, most notably: Bams Festival, Salem Jazz Festival, and Point Sebago Reggae Festival. Her First Debut single release, Let's Pretend is currently out now! “Safiya’s Let’s Pretend is a musical respite from the conventional Western composition, into the exoticism of the Caribbean coasts. (Sinusoidal Music)” She has performed in Colombia, St. Maarten, Aruba, Fiji, and Australia. Safiya is an alumnus of the prestigious Professional Performance High School Arts School in NYC and Berklee College of Music. She has a dual degree in Music Production & Engineering and Music Business Entrepreneurship as well as a minor in Ethnomusicology. During her time at Berklee, she was a prominent and founding member of Riddim Symphony, A soca band where she has opened up for the likes of Dancehall Artist, Konshens, and Reggae artist, Keznamdi. ​ In 2021, she started her subscription box business: Travel Through Music The subscription box allows subscribers to travel the world at home and get a VIP MUSICAL EXPERIENCE. The box has recently been a feature in the Boston Globe & Forbes.
