NABIYAH BE is a singer-songwriter and actor from Brazil. Her music seeks to convey the boundless, borderless internationality of her generation through original sound and story. As a child, she was introduced to the musical stage by her father Jimmy Cliff, with whom she toured internationally as a guest singer and back up dancer. She has been the backing vocalist for two iconic Brazilian artists, Daniela Mercury and Carlinhos Brown and conceived, produced and performed Rebel in Me, a recorded live concert of re-arranged classic and contemporary songs. While still in Brazil she joined theater company Os Bumburistas and with them developed three theater projects. After completing her theater studies at Pace University in New York, she originated the role of Eurydice in Anaïs Mitchell's highly acclaimed Hadestown and performs in the Hadestown Original Cast Album scheduled for 2017 release. Her major film debut as Tilda Johnson in Marvel's Black Panther is slated for 2018. All throughout, Nabiyah has been writing and singing and is currently recording her debut album due for release in late 2017.
