Mamii

Born Shawntoni Nichols in Gary, Indiana, Mamii is a versatile artist. She started singing as a child in the church choir. Both of her parents and all sides of her family are musically inclined, so she was bound to have some talent. She was brought up on gospel music that would later influence her music with artists like Take 6, Kirk Franklin, and The Clark Sisters. In her early teen years, she started to discover other popular music artists like Prince, Stevie Wonder, and Musiq Soulchild. She fell in love with the sound and later wanted to make music like those artists. She started producing and writing songs at 15. She became better and better over the years and finally developed her own sound.
