Emily Julia Kresky is a multifaceted singer-songwriter, guitarist, and performer who blends styles of blues, rock, and folk with a retro twist. Born and raised in northern New Jersey, she relocated to Charlottesville, Virginia in the winter of 2014 and quickly immersed herself into the local music scene. She has since appeared on many stages throughout Virginia including Blue Grass Valley Music Festival and Jammin’ Java. She performs both as a solo act and with her backing band, The Point, and was in the duo Together Soul for three years. She released her first solo EP, “No Place to Be”, in March, 2018. She celebrated the release of this album in New Orleans during the 2018 Jazz & Heritage Festival with two shows at The Howlin’ Wolf Den. Emily’s music is rooted in a deep pool of inspiration that began with a love of writing and expanded to complex songwriting that draws from various playing styles such as roots and blues-shuffle to create her authentic and recognizable sound. Known for her catchy melodies, poetic lyrics, and captivating performances, Emily Julia Kresky continues to engage crowds and gather avid followers.
