A3O (pronounced ‘Aeo’) aka the King of Vibes is MOBO UnSung's UK Afrobeat artist of 2022. Born & raised in Brixton (South London), the performing artist known as A3O, creates Afrobeat with a melodic thrill. The King of Vibes discovered his talent at the age of 4 singing in a school choir. A3O’s lively & unique combination of British and African culture in music, adjoining his soothing, velvety vocals evoked his Alté (Alternative Afrobeats) sounds and put the singer on the radar in 2014. Creating room for himself to later share stages with notable UK artists such as Ann-Marie & WSTRN at Capital Xtraʼs Music Potential 2016 KOKO (Camden) Showcase. Not a stranger to the stage, A3O’s notable moments include: Performing at the SSE Arena Wembley, performing live with Kylie Minogue at BBCʼs annual Radio 2 Festival in Hyde Park (70,000 people), performing at the EartH (Evolutionary Arts Hackney) for the Palm Wine Fest London supporting afrobeats artists: Show Dem Camp, Ladipoe, Ayra Starr and BNXN (Buju) to name a few. With 2022 being the year to create more music and strong collaborations, A3O became Sofar Sounds Resident artist: performing and headlining more than 30+ sold out shows across London and Bristol. A3O headlined South London’s Windrush Festival Burgess Park (1500+ capacity), and successfully toured 8 cities around the UK to promote the MOBO Unsung Album marking the MOBO Awards 25th Anniversary. A3O also won the Amazon Music booth: Emerging Artist Competition gaining partnership opportunities with Metropolis Music. Also joining forces with SMADE Events (Afronation) for his headline show in September, A3O is set for a promising 2023 as the King of Vibes with his debut EP, scheduled to be released in Spring 2023. A3O’s mission is to “create music that lives forever”.
