But these aren&#8217;t the only notable artists who have played Sofars over the years.<\/p>\n<p>Take a look at some incredible performances from five noteworthy artists you might have seen and heard before.<\/p>\n<h2>Teddy Swims<\/h2>\n<p>At just 31, Atlanta\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/open.spotify.com\/artist\/33qOK5uJ8AR2xuQQAhHump?si=jOqFMclrSt-sizHtp5wrmQ\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Teddy Swims<\/a> has lived a life of many twists and turns. He\u2019s fronted heavy metal bands, performed musical theater, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=_QWZQh0YYWA&amp;t=5s\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">covered Shania Twain<\/a>. Now he\u2019s quite rightly getting the attention he deserves. Blending R&amp;B, soul, and pop, Swims creates a distinct sound that you&#8217;ll want to listen to over-and-over.<\/p>\n<p>His 2023 track \u201cLose Control\u201d saw him shoot to stardom and a spot in the Billboard Hot 100, and his debut album I\u2019ve Tried Everything but Therapy (Part 1) garnered wide acclaim and hit Number 43 in the US charts.<\/p>\n<p>Teddy graced the stage at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sofarsounds.com\/cities\/london\">Sofar London<\/a> to perform \u201cLose Control\u201d:<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Teddy Swims - Lose Control (Live From @Sofarsounds London)\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/e3HP0eUQjfY?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>But he didn&#8217;t stop there. An ode to his father, the song\u2019s studio version is powerful enough to make you forget what you were doing and think about your own loved ones. But live, and with just acoustic accompaniment? The song is elevated to a whole other level.<\/p>\n<p>The audience at this Los Angeles show in May of 2022 were treated to a special backyard performance of \u201cHero\u201d that lives long in the memories of those who attended. Tompkins will be on tour in Europe in April, supporting The Kid LAROI. Homeschooled academically and musically by parents who founded the Boys and Girls Choir of Detroit, they were street performing around the Big Apple while their friends sat in classrooms studying trigonometry. In 2019, The Guardian called them \u201cones to watch\u201d after their track \u201cAbusey Junction\u201d picked up over 20 million listens. A graduate of the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/BRIT_School\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">famous BRIT<\/a> school in London, whose list of alumni reads as a who\u2019s who of UK music from the last 30 years.
