Meeting a new friend for the first time? Trying to figure out what to do? Well, you know what we recommend. But more importantly, here are a few reasons why we recommend bringing your new friend to a Sofar.
Looking for that friend? Check out the Bumble app.
1. Start things off fun
Why not kick off your inaugural hangout with an adventure? Once you’ve got your tickets for a Sofar, you won’t know where the concert is until hours before, and you won’t know the artists until they start singing. You and your new friend can start to get to know one another as the mysteries unfold.
2. Find something new in your city together
Maybe Sofar takes you to that neighborhood boutique you’ve been wanting to check out, or a rooftop you’ve been eyeing, or even the backyard of a mutual friend or neighbor. The moment of reveal is exciting, but the discovery of your new favorite spot is a much longer lasting thrill.
3. Connect with local artists
We’re not about to forget the heart of the evening– the music itself. Not all of us know how and where to find the vibrant local music scene. Sofar gives us a chance to see local artists and to hear the songs that were perhaps inspired by our very own towns. And hey, sometimes it’s your last chance to see these artists before they hit the big festival stages.
4. Make a few more friends along the way
Sofars are first and foremost, communities. In between sets, you might find yourself chatting with your new friend, and the folks seated next to you, aka, your other new friends. Who knows, maybe one of them will turn into more than a friend, it’s been known to happen at Sofars.
