From the second you arrive, there’s someone there to say hi. But it doesn’t stop at the entryway– the MC is there to guide you through the evening, the artists are there to openly share their songs, and fellow show-goers are also eager to talk about the music, the unique space, and maybe more.
2. It’s Where New and Old Friends Come Together
Maybe you and your friends are looking for new people to hang with. For some of us, Sofars can be place a place we feel empowered to make new friends, and bring our oldest ones too (and maybe even find love). The vibe is always laid back at a Sofar, so if you want to talk it up with some new faces, or sit quietly with friends and just be around good music with fellow music lovers, it’s all possible (and encouraged).
3. There’s Time to Chat with Your Neighbor
For you more talkative folks out there– don’t sweat, there’s always time between artists to gab with the people sitting around you. Maybe you’ll luck out and they’ll share their blanket with you (that’s what happened for our founder, Rafe). It’s a friendly crowd, trust us.
4. It’s a Chance to Expand Your Community
Sometimes a Sofar takes you to someone’s cozy living room, or a micro-distillery run by small business owners, or maybe it lands you at a Sporting Goods store where big groups of bikers and runners meet for adventure. It’s a wide world, and Sofar gives you the chance to join new and diverse groups of people. What better way to come together than through live music?
