We’ve all had those moments of hearing a song and connecting with it on a visceral level, really feeling the sound. But, have you ever wondered what a good song might actually taste like? Well, we were pretty curious about it, so we teamed up with Lexus to present Parallels, an evening where we brought together the renowned, Michelin-star chef visionary Ludo Lefebvre and artists Jae Luna, Kyle Dion, and Kablito to show us what happens when the two creative channels merge.
1. The Citrus Flavor in a Pop Song
Take a look at how Chef Ludo breaks down how the cool, electric feel of Jae Luna’s confessional performance of “Summertime 2016” translates to the fresh taste of ceviche.
2. Barbecue, Earthy Spice meets Latin Rhythm, Dancehall Fusion
Didn’t think that barbecue sauce paired with vegetables….or darker pop tones? Chef Ludo did after hearing Kablito’s “Chance”, and of course, it worked.
3. The Floral, Complex taste of Playful Soul
Beets, salted cod, lime vinaigrette—Chef Ludo talks about how the energy and flavors come together in a way that mirrors Kyle Dion’s smooth, dynamic sound.
