It’s a stressful world, to say the least. So, sometimes you gotta find ways to calm down a bit. Sounds of a meditative handpan? Or an intoxicating, acoustic melody? Here are just a few of our most soothing Sofar acoustic (for the most part) performances to put you at ease.
Hirofumi Nakamura – The Rolling Wave | Sofar Tokyo
This one just sounds like a deep breath. Hirofumi Nakamura loops an acoustic refrain that becomes more relaxing with each spin. Those nylon strings have some magical powers (and so does Hirofumi, of course).
Soulei – Sound Healing | Sofar Santa Barbara
The name says it all here. Imagine gentle wind chimes clinking together in a backyard on a breezy day. Now add in deep, calming sounds of notes echoing off glass bowls. It’s basically a sonic spa. Take a listen and let the healing powers sink in.
Gabriele Pollina – LIVE | Sofar Parma
Ok, have you heard of the handpan? Gabriele Pollina’s the perfect artist to show you the dazzling capacity of the percussive, otherworldly instrument. The artist moves between TWO handpans at swift speed, but the performance and tone feel like 16 effortless, calming minutes.
Amy Fitz Doyley – Human | Sofar Leipzig
Sometimes nothing cuts the stress like the sound of just a voice. Amy Fitz Doyley gives us an intimate performance, simple a cappella phrases punctuated by the sound of bells. It’s a dazzling one, to say the least.
Pomme – On Brûlera | Sofar Paris
We wrap in Paris, with Pomme sharing a sweet melody from the autoharp, and of course, her serene vocals. Something about the sound feels like sitting on soft clouds…does it get more soothing than that?
