Is it August already?
All year, we’ve partnered with our friends at Sony Electronics to curate incredible lineups in unforgettable spaces, in support of Sony’s For the Music campaign to support artists at every stage of their careers. While we gear up for our next show in Miami in September, we thought it’d be fun to revisit some highlights from our past events with Sony.
At all of these shows, the team at Sony were on hand with their newest products allowing audience members the chance to experience music the way it was meant to be heard.
Ayoni I Santa Monica
Bajan singer-songwriter Ayoni delivered an impassioned performance at Sony Electronics in Hollywood back in December of last year. Her song “Santa Monica”, from 2019’s Iridescent, is a fitting choice for the Southern California crowd, who even got involved in harmonizing with Ayoni during the show.
Magna Carda I Tom’s Diner | Sony Summer Series
“Thank you for being here because you could be anywhere but you’re here with us,” says Magna Carda emcee Megz Kelli before launching into “Tom’s Diner”.
Described as “Austin’s answer to The Roots”, Magna Carda put on a show to remember at a packed house at the Magdalena Hotel in Austin, Texas in July.
Benjamin Carter I Psycho | For The Music with Sony
Let’s return to our first show with Sony, at Sony Electronics in DTLA back in 2023, where Benjamin Carter wowed the crowd with “Psycho”: a catchy song about stereotypes and wanting to defy them. Carter was backed by audience vocals and his fantastic band, which featured one of the youngest musicians in the world, Mia. Check out the video to see what we mean:
Jame Minogue I Pleasure | For The Music with Sony
Back in March, we featured Jame Minogue’s performance at this Sony x Sofar show in San Diego, and we think it’s worth the continued spotlight. The Dominican-Irish singer-songwriter delivered this fuzzy bilingual groove to a head-bobbing crowd, the sound crystal clear thanks to Sony products.
Nola Adé I Heaven | Sony Summer Series
The first of our Summer Series featured Nigerian-American musician Nola Adé, who performed this incredible song, “Heaven” to a packed house at Guild Row in Chicago. The song has elements of afrobeat and cumbia, but at its core is Adé’s commanding voice and range.
