It’s another wildly packed month of Sofar artists putting their good work out into the world. We’ve got Tiny Desk performances, tour dates, ‘90s pop covers, and more. Here’s our artist news March.
1. We’re always blown away when Sofar artists cover songs in their own jaw-dropping ways, so we were extra excited to hear the newest track from Wendlo. The Atlanta, GA-based duo recently released their own tender version of “I Love You Always Forever”, the ‘90s pop-hit initially sung by Donna Lewis. The duo brings a whole lotta sweetness to the track, just like they did with this sweet serenading performance of “Sweet Sleep”.
2. Did you catch Charley Crockett’s recent Tiny Desk Concert? It’s one to add to the queue, for certain, right after you revisit the Texas artist’s Sofar Live set from 2020. This one’s full of mighty fine favorites.
3. Ever heard of a little gathering by the name of South by Southwest? The one where thousands of outrageously talented artists descend on Austin, TX for a week of nonstop creativity? Well, it just happened, and loads of Sofar artists were there, like Oracle Sisters, MAUVEY, Victoria Canal, Madison McFerrin—the list just goes and goes. Fortunately we had the chance to catch up with a few of these awesome artists. Check out this sneak peek of what’s ahead. Oh, and speaking of Madison McFerrin—she’s got a brand new single out, “God Herself” that you’ve gotta listen to. And while you’re at it, revisit one of our favorite performances from Madison McFerrin, one where she makes a tapestry of a song with nothing but a voice and a pedal as her needle and thread. It’s. So. Good.
3. And speaking of Victoria Canal…the artist has some tour dates on the July horizon with fellow Sofar artist Hozier. The shows will mostly be around the UK, with a few evenings scattered across Europe. In the meantime, we’ve got one our favorite UK performances from Victoria here, a real stunner of a piano ballad.
4. Ok, we’re jumping the gun a little, but mark March 30th on your calendar, because that’s when Mel Chanté will drop her new single, “One Day Real Soon”. And while you wait, take a look back at Mel’s Sofar performance of “To My Future Husband”, a spoken-word piece that feels just as raw and real, every time we see it.

5. Did you see Caleb Kunle’s recent KEXP performance? It’s nice to catch the artist playing with a full band, though we gotta admit, we loved getting to see the London-based artist play this stripped down, energetic performance of “All In Your Head”. Nothing but voice and piano keeping us gripped the whole time.
6. Ok, last thing before you go—for those in Italy, or looking for a little vacation, mark your calendars for Finnegan Tui’s upcoming shows. The artist just announced April tour dates with Fink. And if you’re not close by, you can always check out this recent Sofar #shorts “Under The Influence” with Finnegan and get to hear the artist talk a little bit more about what inspires him, in his own words.
