While so many of us are out soaking up the last bits of summer (or cozying up in the winter, for our Southern Hemisphere folks), these artists are keeping mighty busy with their musical endeavors. Electric Lady studio performances, songs for the Chicago White Sox— here’s a little news on what these talented Sofar artists have been up to.
1. Have you seen Jordan Hawkins’ performance of “Super Power” on A COLORS SHOW? It’s dreamy, it’s airy, it’s laid-back pop—you gotta just watch it yourself.
2. We’ve been keeping an extra close eye on Remi Wolf throughout 2022, and have been streaming her recent EP from the iconic Electric Lady Studios since it dropped earlier this month. Our personal favorite track is the artist’s take on Frank Ocean’s “Pink + White”,but which one stands out to you?
3. We all know “Take Me Out to the Ballgame”, but we’ve got a new favorite baseball song, courtesy of Vivian Garcia. The Chicago alum was commissioned to write music for the Chicago White Sox to honor Minnie Miñoso into the Baseball Hall of Fame. Some of you might’ve caught it on the jumbotron at a couple White Sox games recently, but for the rest of us, it’s here to watch.
4. For our friends in Indianapolis, IN, The All In Fest is right around the corner, and this year, you can catch Sofar alums like Josh Powell, Kara Cole, Jon Bayley (The Palace), and Steven & The Moon. For those out of the area, at least we’ve got this lovely Sofar performance from Josh Powell to watch.
5. Last up for this month’s roundup is our friends Tiny Habits, a trio making a name for themselves with their pristine, pristine harmonies. Bandmate Maya Rae’s got a new LP out, Where I’m Going, but before you dive into that, check out Tiny Habits’ cover of Fleetwood Mac’s “Landslide”, which currently has 3 million views, and counting. Again, those harmonies…
