June is here, and with it, Pride and Black Music Months.
To celebrate, we’re throwing a variety of Sofar shows around the world, featuring our incredible community of LGBTQ+ and Black voices. Get a preview with some playlists we’ve put together for you below.
Celebrate Pride
It’s no question that LGBTQ+ artists’ influence is felt everywhere in popular music and culture: from musical theater and disco, to drag and glam rock – not to mention more contemporary expression in historically heterosexual genres like rap and country.
Our Pride shows around the world will feature a similar breadth of styles, while showcasing the LGBTQ+ voices in our community. We’ve also added new songs to our LGBTQ+ Voices playlist on Spotify:
Celebrate Black Music Month
It’s Black Music Month in the US, where Black musical expression has shaped many of the genres we know and love today: blues, jazz, hip hop, gospel, R&B, and more.
It’s also Juneteenth, where we celebrate Black liberation and commit ourselves to the justice, possibility and change this historic moment signifies.
