It’s all about the glamor in this month’s Sofar Artist News. Glamorous award ceremonies, glamorous destinations, and a sprinkling of Hollywood glamor to a Sofar favorite’s performance to elevate it to the A-list.
Olivia Dean
The London-based sensation scooped her very first award, taking to the stage to collect Samsung’s Rising Star at the Glamour Magazine Women of the Year Awards. It caps a heck of a year for the smoky-voiced singer, after ticking off career goals of releasing her debut album, Messy, playing at Glastonbury Festival, and making an appearance on the iconic BBC show Later… with Jools Holland.
Accepting the award, Dean said: “Thank you to all the women in my life who have taught me, inspired me, and molded me into who I am.”

Flyte
If it wasn’t enough to feature Laura Marling on their recent track, Tough Love, the London duo were able to call upon a Hollywood A-Lister to step into her shoes when a schedule clash ruled her out of a recent Mahogany session. Oppenheimer star and Flyte super-fan Florence Pugh joined with perfect harmonies around the dinner table.
The original version of the track, featuring Marling, appears on Flyte’s new, self-titled album, releasing on October 27th.
Shuba
Following her September Sofar Artist-in-Residence stay in London, in partnership with Uncle, the LA-based artist and TikTok sensation headed to India to start a global tour with Oscar-winning composer AR Rahman. Sure, playing in stadiums and arenas with capacities over 50,000 is a little different from the intimate spaces of Sofar, but Shuba approaches both set-ups with the same routine – centered around her positive mindset.
Check out the track that caught the world’s attention, and keep your eyes peeled for more Sofar content with Shuba in the coming weeks.
