As November draws to a close, the big story, like every year, is the incredible collection of artists who have played Sofar shows being recognized by the music industry with a Grammy nomination. Check out who is up for what here. Elsewhere in the Sofar artist world, we have collaborations, tours, and new music aplenty.
Tiny Habits Hit The Road
We love it when two Sofar artists collaborate independently, so it gave us a real thrill to see Boston’s Tiny Habits invite New York City-based Beane to join them on their 22-date tour across the US and Canada next March and April. Get tickets here.
On the Radar
B-ahwe is this week’s Spotify RADAR: First Listen Artist of the Week for her track “Patience” with fellow Sofar regular, Neone The Wonderer. “It’s all about finding patience with the process, allowing ourselves a little more kindness on this wild road… a hot pot of genre blending delights with a warm hug at the end.”
Mutations Festival Joy
Sofar was honored to host a stage at this year’s Mutations Festival in Brighton, on the south coast of England. Day one featured NEONE the Wonderer, atmos bloom, Hutch, Lily Lyons, and Moon Idle with Mytbe, providing a stellar lineup for day two. Elsewhere at the event, Sofar favorites Prima Queen, Medium Build, and Chartreuse joined headliners The Staves and Public Service Broadcasting.
Check out The Staves in one of the first ever filmed Sofar shows, way back in 2011.
New Releases
Speaking of Chartreuse, their debut album, Morning Ritual, has just dropped. Best enjoyed with a clear diary and set of headphones, it’s a meticulously arranged collection of new work, leaving out some of their early hits, such as “Midnight Oil” and “Three Days,” from inclusion.
Fresh off her Sofar Artist-in-Residence stay in London during September, BEL shares an 8-track release, Read The Room. “Are You Okay?” and “Woman On Fire” set the tone for what to expect from the Los Angeles-based artist. In what makes for a busy few weeks, she’s also out on the road with girlhouse for a seven-date US tour.
