We’ve rounded up another crew of outstanding artists from our global Sofar community– slow jams, sweet folk, buoyant rap numbers, all right here. Jessica Domingo | “Gravitate”
The horns, snaps, and a dusting of reverb– you’re hooked within the first three seconds of Jessica Domingo’s “Gravitate”, then when the LA-via-PNW artist’s vocals seep in, you’re in it for the full thing. Gift yourself these soulful three minutes.
Transviolet | “Everything Everything”
A slow jam with a pop backbone, it’s Transviolet’s “Everything Everything”. The LA four-piece crafted a song that feels like last-call at your favorite rooftop in the city. In slow motion. Did you get notes of that too?
Daysormay | “Running”
Strap your shoes on for the trek– you can just feel the subtle anthemic build throughout this pop number, “Running”. By the last minute, it hits a strong stride.
Oompa | “LEBRON”
This one just gets in the pocket, ASAP. The Boston-based hip-hop artist and educator was named one of NPR’s 2020 Slingshot Artists to Watch, and “LEBRON” shows she’s got many more accolades ahead.
SoloSam | “Traffic Jam”
If only traffic jams felt this serene– “Traffic Jam” just sonically swirls around and uplifts you. Next time you’re stuck between still cars, put on this Chicago artist’s track to transcend the gridlock.
Annie Sumi | “Oliver”
A reminder that a simple ballad can have mega force. The Canadian folk artist shares just that with “Oliver”– and when that flute comes in like fluttering birds? That’s just downright dreamy.
Myrddin | “Djura”
The perfect finale, courtesy of an outrageously talented Belgian artist known as Myrddin. “Djura” features lightning-speed guitar lines feel like ripples through a wheat field. You’ll wanna feel that soft breeze again and again.
