Looking for some brand new releases in your life? For this month’s artist news, we’ve got loads of new albums and singles for you to hear. Let’s just get to it:
1. A big congrats to Eleni Drake for her new album, Surf The Sun, eleven dreamy, watery tracks that evoke some Lana Del Rey vibes and feel like crystal blue sunshine (you heard me). But before you get lost in the new dreamy LP, start with revisiting the London artist’s recent Sofar performance of the airy “Melbourne Blues”.
2. Bristol artist TIANNA just shared her debut single, “Born By The Sun”, an ultra catchy, neo-soul number full of warm, summery vibes. We had the downright honor of hosting TIANNA’s first show ever, and we’ve been fans since. Catch a little bit of a recent Sofar performance here.
3. And speaking of singles, Liza Anne just released her new track “Cheerleader”, a queer anthem to celebrate love and healing through pop and punk tones. See the music video below.
4. Need more new music? Dana Harper’s got you with her new single “Daydreaming”, a smooth number about when you can’t get someone off your mind, even when you want to. We’ve had this song stuck in our heads since we got to see Dana perform it live at a Sofar, and even got the chance to chat with the Dallas, TX artist about where the influences for her amazing music comes from. Curious about that Sofar? You can see the acoustic performance here:
5. Ok, we gotta pause the new release train for a moment to celebrate Victoria Canal for winning the Rising Star Award at the Ivor Novello Awards. Rising indeed, the songwriter’s been keeping busy with new singles, an acting debut on Little America, upcoming tour dates with fellow Sofar alum Hozier, and a few new songs on the way. And then there was that time Coldplay’s Chris Martin told her she’d written one of the best songs ever. For now, we’ll just leave you with Victoria’s Sofar London performance.
6. Back to the new tunes! Our of our favorites, Shawnee Dez, just released her official debut full length, MOODY UMBRIA. All we can say is, this one’s gonna be on nonstop all summer. Before you dive in, revisit Shawnee’s Sofar performance below, and hear more from the artist on celebrating Black joy through founding the annual Black JoyRide in Chicago, IL.
