Sometimes you just wanna ride up to the show in style, and that’s where our friends at Lyft come in.
A few weeks ago, we partnered with Lyft to throw a Sofar show at the Museum of Pop Culture in Seattle. A select few competition winners got to ride to and from the venue in fitted out Lyfts, where they were then serenaded by music from Jessica Domingo, TeZATalks, and Umi.
UMI had everyone mesmerized by her song “Show Me Out”, accompanied by a sole guitarist. Just watch everyone’s faces: wide-eyes, mouths agape. And who knew the crowd all had such great pitch? Umi leads the crowd through a call and response of the song’s chorus.
Jessica Domingo performed her song “Island”: a syncopated groove about how it feels to be vibing with someone, how the rest of the world is far, far away. Although the song features limited instrumentation – drums, guitar, and Domingo’s vocals – the way the three components come together is enchanting.
TeZATalks hits us square in the chest with “The Revenge”, her rousing song about an ex. Backed by a five-piece band, featuring a violinist, the singer had everyone in the crowd feeling it.
