Seattle, the sweet Emerald City. We love music venues like Neumos and The Crocodile, but the city is full of incredible hidden gems to discover for seeing live music in Seattle. The trick is, they’re not always the places you’d expect. Here are four of our favorite places for live music in Seattle.
1. Edgewater Hotel
This Seattle hotel not only has a waterfront view, it’s on the water. Edgewater Hotel has a long history of ties to the local music scene, housing Seattle rock legends like Pearl Jam and Foo Fighters, and of course, holding live performances from dynamic Sofar artists. Put this one on top of your list.
2. Creative Block
Creative Block, a Filipino-owned creative space, is open for all kinds of imaginative projects, including live music. The space just has those creative vibes running through it, and we swear it heightens the musical experience.
3. Retreat Cafe
You can’t visit Seattle, arguably the coffee capital of the U.S., without checking out a cafe. Retreat Cafe is the perfect stop, offering a blissful bite to eat, a latte (maybe even a wellness version), and a little live music in Seattle as well.
4. TASWIRA
TASWIRA, a.k.a. Transformative Action for Sustainable Women’s Initiatives & Resources in Africa, is both an African Art and Design organization right in Pioneer Square. The retail and event space shares hand woven African streetwear, and 20th century artifacts from the Maasai Tribe. You could spend hours appreciating the artistry of this space, even more once the live music in Seattle gets going.
