Supporting artists and their endeavors to create is something we’re fully committed to at Sofar Sounds. It’s an integral part of our DNA, a core reason for our very existence. We recently partnered with electronic giants, Sony, to help deliver a campaign that continues that commitment even further, with For The Music.
For The Music is a platform that builds on Sony’s long history of delivering the highest quality audio experiences. This includes providing artists with professional tools and equipment to advance their art. At the show at Second Home – a two acre coworking campus in Hollywood, Los Angeles. CA. – lucky competition winners were able to experience the latest headphone and speaker technology with a curated playlist of the talent on the lineup, before settling down to watch those three incredible Sofar artists.
Fresh from her Sofar Artist-in-Residence stay in London earlier this year, YaSi kicked things off with a set that balances East and Western influences with optimism and realism. In line with the creative ethos of the night, she showcased an as yet unreleased track, ‘Colors’.
Travel has been a key theme for Sweet Lew this year, who has clocked up the miles this year, playing Sofar shows in his home San Francisco/Bay Area, all throughout California and on the East Coast. He ventures even further afield with this track, ‘Sicily’.
Ayoni’s incredible range was on display for her tale of a complicated and painful lost love in her city with a full band version of ‘Santa Monica’, a track which removes and understates the backing instruments on the original EP.
