Los Angeles, a city of fame, fun, and sun. There are endless things to do in LA, but we’ve got a few favorite places that double not only as awesome businesses in their own right, but amazing, unexpected rooms for live music. So, here are five of our favorite things to do in LA.
Five Things to do in LA:
1. Child’s Pose
Child’s Pose is a female owned boutique studio right in the center of Culver City Arts District. At Child’s Pose, you can do everything from yoga classes to sound baths, wellness events, or catch a flea market featuring local creators. The main goal remains the same: bringing inclusive, affordable wellness to the community. While you’re there, maybe you can even attend a Sofar concert at night, seeing the space fill up with dynamic sounds from Los Angeles artists (we’ve got a few favorites).
2. Dream Machine
Before you head out of Culver City, you gotta stop by Dream Machine, a charitable, arts-driven nonprofit. The space is full of inspiration (along with founder Charlie, who’s dream to become an athlete led him to take on four marathons while battling a brain tumor). There’s nothing like being in the Dream Machine space when it’s filled to the brim with good vibes and good sounds.
3. Endless Noise
Looking for a laid-back afternoon? Make your way over to Santa Monica and park yourself in Endless Noise. A recording studio, a coffee house, and a record store, all in one sleek space. It’s the perfect recipe for a chill few hours of sipping a beverage and looking for new vinyl to love. Oh, and if you’re extra lucky, you might even see a few live songs in the evening for a Sofar show.
4. Wonzimer
It’s time to jump back in the car and scoot over to downtown LA to check out the latest exhibit at Wonzimer. The art gallery warehouse is always bringing in new artistic voices and mediums, including of course, live music performances. We just love this special space.
5. Genq Studio
Last thing you gotta check out while you’re in LA? Genq Studio. The queer owned-and-operated space is an events space and creative studio, be it for workshops, photo shoots, music videos, or even a Sofar night. So if you’re looking to get a few remote hours of work, or maybe even experiment with a creative endeavor while you’re in town, this is the place.
