[Hear The Curator Mixtape here].
Each month we get the chance to hear a carefully curated playlist from one of our stellar Sofar curators. This month’s tunes come to us from Ludivine, formerly from Paris, now based in Portugal’s coastal capital, Lisbon. Hear these feel good, breezy tracks below, and hear a little more about Ludivine.
Do you have a creative outlet outside Sofar?
I work as a photographer and a graphic designer. My first passion has always been photography. I love capturing moments & emotions. My main focus is portrait & concert photography, but I also explore other genres such as landscape and street/press photography. I’m obviously a big music lover and being able to combine my two passions is amazing!
What’s your favorite thing to do in your city?
The music scene is very active! There is always something to do and somewhere to go. Once you know where to look, you realize that there are a lot of small concerts, jam sessions and open mics happening all the time even in the tiniest places. There are a lot of artists here, it’s quite a big community and the more I dive into it for Sofar the more I see that everybody is connected. We have a great mix of locals, expats, and travelers who apply to Sofar Lisbon and I think it’s a great representation of the city.
Thoughts on a couple standout tracks from The Curator Mixtape?
José Tornada | “Our Love Will Save the Earth”
José Tornada’s music is very different from the typical guitar/voice set up we often see for Sofar sessions, as it is mainly instrumental. This track is absolutely magnificent. I fell in love with it the first time I heard it.
Daphné Chenel | “Les Dégâts”
Daphné is French but lives in Lisbon. She played her first Sofar in Lisbon with us and has played in a few other cities since. I think she created a really beautiful and moving song and her voice deserves to be heard!
