We’re only halfway through 2022, but our New Music Alerts have been jam packed with outrageously good tunes. We love everything on these playlists, but these 7 artists in particular have really stood out, and we wanna make sure you’re not missing out on their stellar songs.
1. Tecoby Hines
Tecoby Hines’ “Days under Sun” is still taking us to the outdoor happy hour of our dreams. In fact, the North Carolina based artist’s new LP of the same name feels flawless, breezy, honest—put the whole thing on and lean into its goodness.
2. DRAMA
When we heard “Forever’s Gone”, something just clicked. That intoxicating synthy beat, that vocal hook – we haven’t been able to get this one out of our heads. The Chicago duo’s got a few equally excellent singles that have come out this year, so once you’ve taken “Forever’s Gone” for another spin, make your way to those new tracks.
3. Sandra Bernardo
What keeps us coming back to Sandra Bernardo’s “Luna” is its earthy feel—the gentle snaps (or is it raindrops, we’re still trying to decide), the airy reverb, the expansive voices. The Madrid artist’s whole LP Es el Momento is just as enchanting. Go have a listen.
4. Gracie Gray
Did you catch the Los Angeles artist’s “dig” when it came out? The whole LP, anna, has that kind of lo-fi bedroom softness and intimacy to it. We’re still basking in the tender feel of it.
5. Fieh
The Gothenburg seven-piece scrambled our brains in the best way with their multifaceted, glittery pop tune “In the Sun in the Rain (Move on Up)”. The whole album is gripping—a funk forward, string haloed, groove laden 11-track experience. You gotta check it out.
6. Esabalu
Jenn Mundia, a.k.a. Esabalu, gave us “Be Okay”, a ballad full of catharsis—lush strings, and downright confessional honesty. The Los Angeles based artist has shared a string of new music this year—tender, dynamic, catchy songs that need your ears, ASAP.
7. Ferraz
When we first heard the Mexico City artist’s track “¡Corre! – Sunsplash Remix”, it just brought us straight to dreaming about summertime. So, naturally we’ve got it on repeat for these warm months. And, for the southern hemisphere folks, throw this ‘80s alt pop-feeling track on your speakers and you’ll be transported back to summer too.
