Who couldn’t use a little lift of the spirit every now and then? Sofar’s pretty good at that. It could have something to do with the serene, unexpected spaces, or getting to spend the night in rooms full of music lovers and future friends. But, we know for certain a big part of the good feelings come from the good music artists share with us. We’ve got loads of Sofar music videos that can cheer us up, but here are five to start you off.
1. Starr Busby – Joy | Sofar Lyon
What better way to kick off feeling good than with some pure, old fashioned joy? Starr Busby encapsulates that magnetic, beaming feeling through layers of buoyant beat voices (including a soft layer of laughter), coated in the artist’s lush voice. This thing will get you smiling, asap.
2. OK Sweetheart – This Is How We Love | Sofar Seattle
How do we love each other? First off, we sing along. OK Sweetheart gets the whole room singing right from the start. In fact, by the end, the roomful of voices are almost part of the band, taking on their own choral melody to close out the song.
3. Tokio Myers – Capricious (Crooked Colours rework) | Sofar London
The London artist gives us this shiny gem of a performance, layering solid beats and hooks, along with braiding in Crooked Colour samples, to create a sonically glittering pop number. This thing morphs by the second, and spoiler alert, the unexpected, stripped-down ending on the keys feels like the best surprise.
4. Houston Kendrick – Better Days | Sofar Chicago
Feeling good isn’t all about riding the high, it’s about releasing the lows, facing the doubts. That’s what Houston Kendrick leans into, affirmation after affirmation, smoothly delivered. During the chorus Kendrick laments waiting for better days, but it feels less like a melancholy verse, and more like a cathartic release.
5. Joely – Ice Cream | Sofar Bristol
First off, who doesn’t love ice cream? That’s not even really the point—Joely gives us these dreamy scenes of love gone wrong…wait, why is it such a feel good tune? There’s this blissful feel that just makes the whole vibe so darn pleasant. It’s not just us noticing it—around the minute mark we start getting clips of the audience, and they’re feeling just as good.
